The Himeji Castle English Speaking Guide Group
Since 2006, The Himeji Castle English Speaking Guide Group has been providing tour service to thousands of overseas visitors. Our guides, which consist of 70 local volunteers, are happy to share their passion and specialized knowledge of the history of Himeji City as well as Himeji Castle, a World Heritage Site.
Guide Fee
This is a volunteer service so there is no charge for private guides. But expenses during guide tour, such as transportation fee, foods or drinks for the guides, must be paid by the guest. Also, requests from corporations, including educational corporations, public works organizations or tourism operators will be charged ¥1,000 per guide to cover the guide’s travel and management expenses.
Only one (1) guide is provided per group of guests. However, for groups larger than five (5) guests, additional guides may be arranged.
Please note that we occasionally send a trainee or an assistant with our guide at no extra cost. If this is not acceptable to you, please let us know in advance.
